Faryt Kalhil
Founder & CEO of Global Turbine Investments, LLC

Faryt Kalhil began his aviation career in 1985 as a mechanic at AeroThrust Corporation. In those early years, he focused on learning everything he could. He didn’t stay in one lane for long. Faryt cross-trained in various technical areas and became certified in machinist practices, welding inspection, plasma spraying, electroplating, and non-destructive testing. From the beginning, his path was defined by curiosity and a commitment to mastering the work.

Driven to grow further, Faryt earned his FAA certification as a Powerplant Mechanic. He also became an ISO 9000 Lead Auditor and later developed his skills as a quality management, auditing, and executive coach. Each new role was about serving others better, not collecting titles. Throughout his journey, his focus remained on supporting the people he worked with and improving the organizations he served.

Growth at AeroThrust

As he progressed through AeroThrust, Faryt began taking on roles that blended technical depth with leadership. He played a central role in improving internal processes and building stronger supplier relationships. He helped implement proven systems such as Total Quality Management (TQM), Lean Manufacturing (LFS), World Class Manufacturing (WCM), and ISO 9000. These initiatives led to lasting operational improvements.

By 2001, he transitioned into higher-level leadership. He was named Vice President of Quality and then President, assuming the top role just after the events of 9/11. Leading through such an uncertain time required not only business skill but also resilience and clarity.

Under his leadership, the company’s revenues grew from $32 million to more than $107 million. He launched new engine programs, including the CFM56, and helped secure over $190 million in new business. Operational cycle times dropped by 60%, and the company culture shifted significantly. These changes reflected a broader transformation that Faryt helped lead from the inside out.

Launching GEM and Beyond

After more than two decades at AeroThrust, Faryt took a new path. In 2011, he acquired Millennium Engine Associates and launched Global Engine Maintenance (GEM). With a strong vision, he grew the company from $1.2 million in yearly revenue to $12.5 million within two years. That momentum carried through 2019.

As part of the company’s evolution, he moved GEM into a modern facility in Doral, Florida. He centered the business on the CFM56 engine platform, building a reputation for both technical strength and customer service. GEM became known worldwide as a reliable engine overhaul provider. Even after selling his ownership stake in 2019, the performance-focused culture he had created remained a foundation of the company.

Expanding Global Turbine Investments

Faryt also turned his attention to another venture—Global Turbine Investments (GTI), which he had founded in 2009. After transitioning out of GEM, he expanded GTI’s activities in aviation parts investment and engine asset management. What began with a few transactions grew steadily into one of the most respected brands in the field.

GTI’s success is a result of Faryt’s approach: identifying untapped opportunities, acting quickly, and assembling teams that can execute at a high level. The company continues to grow, serving clients around the world with reliable solutions in aviation asset management.

Building SuccessU

Faryt’s interest in leadership development led him to create SuccessU, a platform that combines coaching and software to support personal and professional growth. As founder and CEO, he works with leaders who are seeking support in strategy, mindset, and performance. Through SuccessU, he delivers coaching programs and shares practical resources based on real-world experience.

His coaching emphasizes clarity, structure, and results. He has helped executives in various industries, across different countries, implement systems for sustainable success. He has delivered Lean/Six Sigma coaching across Latin America and Europe in both Spanish and English, customizing each approach to meet the needs of each team.

Faryt also focuses on subjects that go deeper than operations—such as personal power, neurogenesis, subconscious reprogramming, and life design. For him, coaching is about helping people access more of their own potential and approach challenges with focus and intention.

Academic and Technical Strength

Throughout his working life, Faryt continued to invest in his education. He earned both a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, graduating with a 4.0 GPA in both programs and finishing first in his class. Earlier, he had completed associate degrees in computer programming and data processing from Miami Dade College, giving him a strong technical base early in his career.

Alongside his academic achievements, Faryt holds certifications as a Certified Executive Coach, Certified Quality Manager, and ISO 9000 Lead Auditor. His technical qualifications include licenses in electroplating, CNC machining, and as a Powerplant Mechanic. His knowledge spans from hands-on technical work to boardroom leadership.

Leadership Values

Faryt leads by example and works with intention. He prioritizes long-term value over quick fixes and clarity over complexity. Whether managing a company or coaching an executive, he stays focused on results while helping others stay grounded during change.

He believes that leadership requires both high standards and strong support. Colleagues and teams describe him as engaged, consistent, and present. He pushes for excellence but is also there when the work gets hard. His approach is summed up in his motto: “We do whatever it takes!”—not as a shortcut, but as a mindset of full commitment to the work.

What Drives Him

A deep commitment to growth, learning, and contribution drives Faryt. His work has never been about public recognition; instead, he values meaningful outcomes and building systems that endure. His journey is marked by discipline, adaptability, and a long-standing pursuit of self-improvement.

He understands how to lead in different environments and cultures and communicates with clarity wherever he goes. His reputation as a trusted guide in both business and coaching comes from staying focused on what works and helping others reach their best.
